At a time when the NHS is under so much criticism I cannot speak too highly of the care and compassion given by the surgery. I have nothing but praise for the excellent standards portrayed.

It is normal to be waiting at least 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment which is irritating whilst waiting but as a patient it's nice not to feel rushed and pressured to stick to a strict time restriction. 9 times out of 10 the receptionist staff are helpful and welcoming however it is not uncommon to receive an abrupt and dismissive response from certain members. The most recent doctor to move on from the surgery was an absolute asset to the team and made everyone I know that went to her feel valued, remembered and treated with the upmost dignity and respect at all times. As someone that suffers from mental health no other doctor at the surgery currently stands up to her standards. It would be nice if I were able to visit the doctor for a separate illness/request without having to go into my mental health issues - which is very distressing when I am not expecting to have to breach the subject. Additionally, when I visit for a specific ailment I want to feel like I am in control of my own body and wishes and having to discuss such personal issues at any given time depending on the doctor seen is not an amicable process. Please make sure that the patient at least feels they have autonomy over the direction of their appointment.

Thank you for providing constructive and detailed feedback. We endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, but clearly you value the fact that a wait does not result in you then feeling your appointment is rushed. We are sorry when GPs decide to move on but like anyone else they have the choice to develop their own career path and we can only wish them every success in the future. I am sorry but I cannot comment on individual clinical cases, as GPs conduct their consultations as they feel appropriate.

very efficient and helpful staff but it would useful if the receptionists wore name badges so that patients knew to whom they were speaking
